Presence in Life, Not on Instagram

Over the last couple of months, I’ve been quite inward and introspective.

Life presented me with a few situations that quietly revealed parts of myself needing attention. While it’s been challenging in places, the overwhelming feeling I have is pride. I’m really proud of the way I’ve navigated this season.

If you’ve noticed I’ve been quiet on social media, that’s why.

To be honest, it just felt insignificant for a while. It wasn’t the priority in the whirlwind of life.

Starting university has made me question a lot about how I show up online. The cafe has taken up a lot of my attention. My spare time is spent resting or learning. Everyday I’m nurturing new skills, stepping into new roles, building connections and soaking in knowledge. My days have become so rich with experience (the easy parts & hard parts) and through it all, I’ve been learning a lot about myself.

In many ways even though it’s been Spring, I’ve been in a sort of hibernation.

I intentionally put the business to one side while I adapted to a completely new routine. But as life has started to settle again, it’s given me the space to reconnect with it.

Over the months I have been documenting through my journal, voice memos and notes, bits of inspirations, ideas, thoughts. The time has come to begin weaving everything I’m learning back into my business and add to my vision. My path feels quite clear for now.

I’ve always said I want to build this business slowly and organically. Not because I’m afraid of growth, but because I believe the business should evolve as I do. As I learn, unlearn and step into roles I’ve never held before, I meet new parts of myself.

And that requires presence.

Presence in life.

Not on Instagram.

Over these last couple of  years I’ve adapted or pivoted, in the wise words of my bestie, more times than I can count. Every decision has come from trying to stay connected to one simple philosophy:

You run your business. Your business doesn’t run you.

Success, for me, has never really been about money or status.

It’s about creating a life that feels authentic.

A life embodied by my philosophies, values and preferences.

It’s about slow living, meaningful work, genuine connection and facilitating real change in people’s lives.

That’s why I’ve never wanted to force things.

I trust that what is meant for me will unfold as I continue becoming the person capable of holding it.

Don’t get me wrong, I want financial comfort. I want time freedom and location freedom. But those things have never been the reason I started.

The reason has always been to help women experience the kind of transformation I once thought was impossible for myself.

Recently, as a symbolic fresh start, I booked a session with my university’s Business Enterprise Incubator. They offer 1:1 mentoring for students building businesses – I named it ‘The Second Coming’ hehe.

The session was brilliant.

I instantly clicked with my mentor, and he left me with some incredibly practical advice. He really believed in my vision.

It felt affirming to be honest.

So now I get to build my biz alongside studying for my degree, with the support of experienced mentors. Honestly, I feel so grateful.

One thing I’m keeping in mind is that this next chapter doesn’t need to be about doing more.

It needs to be about doing what matters consistently. Consistency creates change. I’m a living breathing example of that.

Anyway, I’ve revisited my business containers and realised it’s time to move from my own version of Spring.. into Summer – a season of intentional cultivation.

Everything now passes through one question:

Does this support the woman I’m becoming?

It’s amazing how one simple question can make so many decisions feel obvious.

My Saturn Return has been quietly underpinning this whole journey too. I’ll save that conversation for another time, because it definitely deserves a post of its own.

For now, I simply feel ready to return.

I’m not entirely sure what that looks like yet.. and I think that’s okay.

I’ll just keep showing up, sharing what I’m learning and seeing what unfolds really.

If you’d like to follow along, I’ll be documenting the journey here.. my reflections, lessons, hardships, little breakthroughs and everything in between.

And if you’re still here after all this time…

Thank you.

It genuinely means more than you probably realise.

With love,
Tyla x
